Anushuka as Bhagmati

Anushka is all set to enact the role of Bhagmati. Anushka has been roped in for this period romantic drama. For those who are unaware about Bhagmati, she is the Hindu wife of Muslim sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah. Qutb Shah was the fifth sultan of the erstwhile Qutb Shahi Dynasty who ruled over the Golkonda region of South India in the 16th century. It is said that Hyderabad's original name Bhagyanagar was named after Bhagmati.

This film is said to be a love story, which will be directed by Ashok, who was popular for his film Pilla Jamindar. Vamsi-Pramod will be producing this venture. Last year this duo produced the film Mirchi with Prabhas and Anushka in the lead.

Presently Anushka is busy shooting for Rudramma Devi. The shoot of this film will be complete by March. Post this she will join the shooting of Bhagmati, which could be in the month of March or April. Rest of the cast and crew of this film is yet to be finalized
